Swetha had dirty uncut nails and unhealthy brown hair when she first
came to us. It took us sometime to make her understand that she
had to keep herself clean, she hated being washed or cleaned. Today
she manages heself, her books and belongings neatly.
Seenu is only six years old. He was a skinny, shy boy with big
stomach in dirty clothes when he was brought to the foster home.
He would often suffer from fits and get scared. He always kept
his head down and never
replied to anybody, he was scared of people. Seenu took lot of
time to recover, adjust to the calm and pleasant foster home atmosphere.
Today he is a smart little chap.
Esther and Samuel's father was a leper with no job to sustain
the family. Their mother's death left them at the mercy of relatives.
Samuel was often beaten for stealing food. He was two years old
and Esther four when they were brought to the foster home during
September 1994. They were malnutritioned as most children are
with sunken eyes, bulging stomachs and skinny legs. Good food
and vitamin B tablets have restored their bodies.
Samuel
is a talented dancer and plays drums. He wants to become a musician
when he grows up. Esther is clever in her studies. She is very
loving towards other children, also takes care of them when necessary.
